It is a beautiful pillow and the bride has good taste for color cordination.
Instructions were done according to Eva's request.

Troubles sometimes are here

We never know when trouble does come.   How does one deal with it when it comes?   Today was a day for me to put on a reality check.
Even though I prayed to GOD about my problem, I never did totally surrender to HIM.. To get myself out of the worry and let HIM take over...erego, a tremendous headache and dizziness !!
Why did I not fully put my burden at HIS feet?   There is no need for me to be exhausted from worries.. there is GOD always willing to give me help.   After doing all my best to find the stupid paper that will help my son,  I finally, surrender myself to GOD.  And after I surrendered all, my head is not heavy anymore.   Lesson learned here:  Never take anything into my own hands but to just fully surrender.   Need to remind myself each day to trust in GOD.   GOD is merciful and Almighty.   He can do things that no one can do for us.   Psalm 126:3  The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.   Always have this in mind and we will be ok.

The Wall Divider

These are pictures taken when the wooden walls dividing us and the neighbors were taken down.
We are putting up a new wall divider of hollow bricks and cement.
The unbearable heat these days have slightly deter the progress of the wall.  Nevertheless, despite the heat today, Roland braved himself outside pouring cement and putting up the first row of hollow bricks.   Pictures of that will be coming up pretty soon.

A job

Had been busy for the past few days.  Went to see a couple of jobs and did this one on Thursday and Friday of this month.
Andy's tenants had moved out and left some of the walls broken and carpet dirty.
We just fixed the holes and painted the walls.  The carpet is not our specialty so we didn't do it.
It was  very hot  those 2 days, but we managed to complete the job.

Baby leg warmers

This is a leg warmer that i have recently made.
It comes with a pair of booties.  They are made from sock yarn.
Very springy and soft.
Have to make more of these soon.

Free oven... produces nice cupcakes

It was a nice feeling to be able to bake cupcakes that tasted and looked like cupcakes.
Although I have 2 "table ovens" they don't produce the result that i hope for.
This oven was supposed to be thrown away from a job, but Roland was able to put it up for a bit so that i can try baking something out of it.
And these cupcakes have blueberries in them.
Derek enjoyed eating them when he came back that day.
Will bake more when i have some time.

Wonderful neighbors

Something is not right with my add image icon. It just wouldn't open for me to add image. Anyways will try it later.
Talking about wonderful neighbors. On the left side of our home, the neighbors are Burmese. And they are the nicest people we ever met. Julia is a widower, but her life is full of activities. She goes to church on Sundays and she often has relatives staying with her. She has only a son who is still searching for his soulmate.
The other day, she came by to chat with me. And during the conversation, I mentioned that i am selling stuffs. She took a look and told me that she was looking for something for her soon to be born nephew and niece. And to my surprise, she ordered 2 pieces of cardigan for the babies.
I love it when people love my work. I am so thankful and happy that we could have this wonderful conversation.
Thank you nice neighbor, we appreciate you !

Do you know the name of these flowers?

This is a miracle plant. Roland and I walked each week on a different route from the route we walk these days. Here on this route, we'd passed by an old lady's backyard. Sometimes, she would be out watering her plants. And on this day, we saw her watering her plants. She has lots of fruit trees and flowers. This day, as we chatted, she decided to pick this plant , literally just picked it and gave it to me. She picked it without roots and told me to put it in the ground. When i came home from the walk, I just stuck it in the ground. Didn't expect a single skinny plant to bloom into such a big plant with such a lot of flowers. The flowers when bloomed, are plentiful. In the evening, the wind would blow them off and there would only be one or two left. And the next day, more flowers would bloom again. I enjoy looking at the pretty flowers, but never did know its name. If you see this and know its name, please leave me a note. Thank you.

My cute little nephew

This is my cutest little nephew from my baby brother, Anthony and of course his sweet dear wife, Joyce.
The 2 of them equal a cute little boy.
Although i have not met him in person, I already fell in love with him. He is such a cutie pie.
Jayden is was born Feb 6th 2011. He is now 5 months old.
He has a very cheery personality and he loves to chat. I have skyped with him before and he spoke to me in his baby language.
I cannot wait to see him. I wish to see him end of this year if things work out for us.
Look at that sweet face..who wouldn't fall in love with him.
Oh, I really want to go and meet him in person. It all depends on what GOD has planned for us.

Birds song

This is another pillow i made for Eva. Hope she likes it.
For the past 2 days, the birds have been singing non stop outside my window. It is so beautiful to hear birds singing each morning. There are different songs that different birds sing. I wish I know how to identify each bird and song.
Love to hear them ! I thought birds only come out in the Spring to sing... well, guess they like the early morning cool breezes of the Summer.

The signboards

These are the signs Roland made for Eva and Mona. They look so good in the front of the store. Hopefully people are attracted to the words and come in to buy more stuffs from Eva. They were sent to the shop on Tuesday 7/5/2011

The work of Roland

This was done on Thursday 7/7/2011
Roland took out the old wall oven for this family and put in this new wall oven.
It took him about 4 hours working on it. The old oven has a microwave on top while this new oven is both ovens only..
He also invented a small table to carry the old and new ovens so that we don't have to stress too much carrying them.
While he worked, i was listening to the karaoke songs playing in the background and chatting with the nephew of this family. This family is a friend of Victor's and I also learn from them that Grace has gone into the temple to be a nun for a week.
She should be out of the temple on Sunday. Wow, what a news !

My Packaged baby booties

Packaged this booties for sale.
Adding my label and some shredded papers soon.
Then it will be ready for sale;.
Today is a very very hot day. Working outside in the sun is torture. Poor Roland was outside all day fixing the security gate at Ninia's today. But since after lunch, Ninia, Sabine and I were indoors enjoying the cool airconditioning while Roland stayed outside.
He did a good job of the dog door and security gate. SO proud of him !
Good news...The Wedding Pantry had customers who spent some money buying stuffs today. Thanks be to GOD for HIS wonderful love for Eva.

So here it is a copy of the bag i saw.

Crochet flowers

These are the flowers I am making today. I love to make new stuffs all the time

July 4th

Today is July 4th. It is a big holiday and it is the Independence Day of USA.
Our children are all doing their own stuffs and we are left alone to be by ourselves. Some of the stores are still open, but i have no intention to shop today.
So sat down to knit or crochet.
This is what i made and like it. Also making some crochet flowers for Eva.
Tonight a lot of people will be firing fireworks in the air. The West Covina City used to display firesworks at the WCHS, but they have moved to another destination which i am not familiar with. We don't have to go far to see the fireworks. We can see them right at our doorsteps. Not that they are displaying them right in front of us, but we can just look up and see the fireworks. Not too crazy about them anyways. Last night someone was firing them late in the night. I was afraid that the sparks might hit our roof top and cause fire. But the LORD was protecting us and we have another day to live. Thank YOU, JESUS !
Well, it is another ordinary day for us. Roland is working on the sign boards and i do what i like.
Anyways, it is such a hot hot day. Feeling lethargic too. :(

Hot hot day !

I guess Summer is here. As much as I dread having summer, it is inevitable that it will come.
It is so HOT ! We get lethargic in this weather. And so we missed our Sabbath walks.
I just hope that this summer will not dread on for months like Winter had. I can not live in hot weather. Wish the cold chills will come back soon.
The days are longer and nights are shorter it seems in the summer. So the sun sets later and sun comes up earlier.
I still prefer the other seasons and sorry, I really dislike summer. But in the summer there are a lot of things people can do. Schools out, vacations on. Children love to go for field trips or to the parks. They get a long break before they go back to school. More people jump into the pools to chill. I just dislike summer because it makes me all dark and tan, while the cool seasons make me fair and white. I prefer to be fair. And no spots on my face. Moreover, in the cooler days, we can put on extra clothings to keep warm, but we cannot take our clothes too much in the summer. When the heat is unbearable, we cannot take off any more clothes or we'll be taking off our skins.
Oh well, guess i just have to bear with these 3 months or so of hot weather. It is only fair for people who prefer the hot too, cuz not everyone likes the cold like i do. :)

A long long road

Life is like a long long road that we are traveling on without knowing what or where the end is. It can be tough and rough or easy and smooth. Somehow tests or trials just enhance one's life if one braces and braves them as they come along. Whatever the result depends a lot on how one looks at life or deals with it.
Recently, a very troubled trial came into our lives. Well, it isn't really that devastating but it involves the people whom we love the most. Like everything else, if it happens to others, it is easily accepted. But when it happens to our love ones, it seems the hardest. This experience will marred some of our relationships..for sure. And it may take a long time to recover. At the moment of trial, heads were filled with stresses and seemed like there was no way out. Naturally, I turned to GOD for help. Although very very stressed, I tried to put all my burdens at HIS feet. And i did feel better. I felt like crying and screaming, but that wouldn't help at all. Best was and is to leave all to GOD. Only HE can find a solution for us. The problem had been solved. Love ones have added financial stress to their already tight situation, but this is a consequence of being impulsive. Impulsive buying can cause big trouble like this one. Spending money we don't have and borrowing is a serious trouble. Just leave this at that and learn a lesson from here. We need self control. We need to learn from mistakes and never again to do it. Meanwhile, we must salvage whatever is left and move on ahead.

The Wedding

To update a lot of things that happened in my life, It is only fair now for me to mention also the wedding of Derek and Charmaine.
In Oct 31st of 2010, the two tied the knots. The wedding was in Big Sur. We booked cabins and stayed there for the 3-4 days weekend.
They had their vows done in someone's backyard. It overlooked the ocean and the scene was actually quite beautiful.
We saw the sunset and how it disappeared on the horizon. The whole cabin stay was beautiful because we were kept away from the daily hustle and bustle of life. We were close to nature and it was really relaxing.
A week later, we had the reception in a bowling alley. It was fun to bowl the night away.
Charmaine is a good planner and although we were all sort of uncertain about her plans, we should say that at the end, all is well ends well. Good job !

Their trip

Today Derek and Charmaine are flying to Washington DC. This is the first time that Derek is flying so far. Best of all, they will be meeting up with Rainer and his wife and baby. It will be an exciting time for them.
Also they will be enjoying fireworks in Washington. Sitting in front of the beautiful monument and Abraham Lincoln's statue watching the fireworks. It will be such a wonderful experience. Wish i could be there myself to watch the splendid fireworks with such beautiful scenery.
They will fly to NY later and spend another few days there. I wonder if Rainer's daughter, Emily will take a liking to them. It will be fun to meet her. She should be 9 months old now.
Well, hope to see a lot of pictures of their trip. It will be a fun one.

Lianne and us

Lianne and us at the restaurant.
Lianne has grown so much. We have not seen her for a long time and now she is a little chatterbox and fun to play with.
Cannot believe how time flies and how fast little children grow,
It was a fun lunch at the Mission 261 restaurant in Las Tunas. Sabine was baptized in a Catholic Church this day. 06/26/2011

My model

This earflap hat really looks good on Sabine.
From now on, she will be my model.
So glad that they love the hat.
Will be making more as soon as I am done with the rest of my projects.

corrected dress

Thought i'd make this dress look more cute. Added rubber band on the sleeves and a bow in the front.
Also made the neckline a little bigger in case her head is bigger than what i originally had.
Quite satisfied with the correction and will see if they like it.
Today we are going to the luncheon for the baby's baptism.

Great Party

We had the privilege last night to attend a party at the Wedding Pantry. The vendors and decorators arrived at almost 2 to put up the decors. We had fun in helping out. Just as we thought how we could accomplished so much in such a short time when people started to arrive.
Next the Soho Taco guys came. They were a friendly bunch of people. As the vendors and people arrived, tables were set up for their products. Everyone was so artistic and talented. The tables were really well set.
More and more people came and the line for tacos were so amazingly long. We jumped in too to get a taste of the vegetarian tacos. It was really good and there is a container of really hot Jalapenos sauce. So much sweets and food all over and so many people.
There were cupcakes different kinds. Horchata, Mexican chocolate, Mojitos cupcakes etc. Then there was the cotton candy lady, and also some natural tortilla chips, and Vodka mix which we didn't try...cuz we are not drinkers of those.
The DJ was playing his music and everyone loved him. He played nice music and made the surrounding happy.
We got to meet Landon, Darla's baby and held him. He is such a cute baby and he cooed and smiled when we spoke to him. Such a dear !
Then Henny and Gabriel came and i got to hold him too. He is growing so big and was a little shy. He is now looking more like a white boy. Hahaha.. He loves his mom and cannot be away from her for too long. We had a good time together though.
It was a long night and people left the party late. It was wonderful meeting up with old friends and meeting some new ones. A fun night at the Wedding Pantry !

Baby girl's dress

This little dress is made today for a sweet baby. This coming Sunday she will be having a baptism at her grandma's church.
It took me a few hours to tediously sew this dress. Cannot wait to see if it fits her well.
This pattern is made in the smallest size.
Oh and the bag was designed by me to carry this little dress.

New Vegetarian Restaurant

Sometimes we cannot rely on advertisements about things that are advertised.
We have heard an ad about this new Vegetarian Restaurant in Las Tunas. We shall keep its name secret to protect the business.
We visited it after a long search along La Tunas cuz we didn't have the address at hand. Just when we were about to throw in the towel, we saw it right in front of us.
It was formerly a cafe ran by a HK owner which had all kinds of authentic HK foods. Now it is a vegetarian restaurant.
The waitresses were very friendly and it was comfortable going there. We ordered some food and it didn't really take too long to come. The dishes that the food came in looked nice..mostly white and they also provided metal chopsticks. The food were very pricey- $8.95 and above per dish. The food came and they weren't as tasty as we expected them to be. After trying out this place, we decided that it will be our first and last meal there.
